The workshop La Calle (22) was born from an initiative from LabBog to bring together, integrate and use academic research and artistic work to contrast the real and current issues of Bogota. The objective of the workshop was to discover the way this street

“has been defined from multiple disciplinary points as the place that, seen through its space, memory and activity, structures the open city. Our attention to Calle 22, arises when a group of Colombian-German artists senses that within the limits of the street lays the history of the territory and the city, its layout and past is contained. This street, like others in the center of Bogotá, predicts in its particular feverishness the complexity of urban life.

We want to walk this street like strollers, see carefully after looking lightly, listen after hearing the noise of the environment; taking notes instead of taking photos automatically, stopping to register in our memory what we will transmit to others so that they understand the experience. We intend to produce original and coherent cartographies with space and time. We will look at the gaps, the places that "really are not worth knowing", the forgotten places and the large parking lots that have pierced the center of the city, we will visit alleys and back parts, in order to find the value of the void as a possibility.

And then, we are going to propose an urban action that allows us to recover those values that these “available” places hide.”
